  Q. What's a Raspberry Pi and where do I get one from?
  A. A Raspberry Pi is a small inexpensive computer created by the Raspberry Pi Foundation in Cambridge, UK. The computer is credit card sized and uses an ARM CPU.

It is capable of running the Linux Operating System, but for the DMD Extender custom software has been written. The software is supplied on an SD card and plugged into the Raspberry Pi.

You can obtain a Raspberry Pi worldwide from the following companies...

  • Farnell / Newark / Element 14
  • RS / Allied Electronics

In the UK the Raspberry Pi costs 26 for the Model B and 19 for the Model A - both models work in the DMD Extender.

Visit www.raspberrypi.org for more information.
